Rogues Bard - Songs - Strut The Messiah

You can sit Tony faced as you laugh up your sleeve
Do you believe what you write, or write of your belief ?
You don't give a damn while those coffers are filling
You strut The Messiah but act like a villain
But at the end of the day, when the curtain comes down
There's only one "Truth" It's your own

You speak like a politician but act like a clown
You wander the globe with that book in your hand
You can quote from The Bible and spout The Koran
Be an expert on subjects you don't understand
But at the end of the day when the curtain comes down
There's only one "Truth" It's your own

And you don't give a damn while those coffers are filling
You strut "The Messiah" and act like a villain
At the end of the day when that curtain comes down
There's only one "Truth" It's your own

You can quote Leonard Cohen or plagiarise Dylan
The world is your stage but you act like a clown
At the end of the day when that curtain comes down
There's only one "Truth" It's your own

You strut all the stage like a little Dictator
The rest of the world is a helpless spectator
A bomb in your hand is worth two in The Bush
But you ain't going nowhere just Blairing "The Truth"
But at the end of the day when the curtain comes down
There's only one "Truth" It's your own
